The data provided relates to any violence against the person crimes recorded (excluding harassment/malicious communications) including child abuse/neglect where the age of the victim at the time of the report was 17 years old or younger.
Please note that Performance & Analysis are unable to capture non-recent child abuse offences that may be being reported by people who are now adults. This is because there are no specific child physical violence offences.
