I’d like to know the amount of money paid to Dorset Police by Bourenmouth Football Club during the seasons from 2015 to 2023.
1/ The total amount paid to the police force by the club during each of the following seasons: 2015-2016, 2016-2017, 2017-2018, 2018-2019, 2020-2021,2022-2023, 2023-2024. For 2023-2024, amount paid to date or most recent information.
2/ The total amount paid by the club for police force attendance at home games during each of the following seasons: 2015-2016, 2016-2017, 2017-2018, 2018-2019, 2020-2021,2022-2023, 2023-2024. For 2023-2024, amount paid to date or most recent information.
3/ The total amount owed/requested to the police force from the club for attendance at homes during each of the following seasons: 2017-2018, 2018-2019, 2020-2021,2022-2023, 2023-2024. For 2023-2024, amount owed/requested to date or most recent information.
4/ The dates (past and future) in this season (2023/2024) when payments are expected to be requested/made.
The Finance Department have provided the following information.
We can only charge a Football Club for policing inside the football ground. This is facilitated with a request from the club for Special Policing with the costs calculated from rates set nationally by the National Police Chief’s Council (NPCC).
All other policing around the football ground is considered to be business as usual and not chargeable.
Therefore, the amounts that Dorset Police charged AFC Bournemouth for policing some of their Home Matches, and the amounts paid by the Club are as follows:

2017/18 - £135,434
2018/19 - £126,952
2019/20 - £89,124
2020/21 - £3,707
2021/22 - £81,224
2022/23 - £134,564
2023/24 - £149,915
Data for 2015/16 is not available as we no longer have access to our old financial system.
All amounts are net and do not include VAT which would have been charged at the appropriate rate.
