The Performance & Analysis Department have provided the following information.
We have searched Niche crime for any occurrences with a knife crime flag attached where the occurrence address is recorded as a school.
We have reviewed each occurrence to identify the type of knife if recorded.
Please provide the following, under the Freedom of Information Act, for the past 5 calendar years, from 2018 to the present and where the location is a school:
1) The number of knife crime offences split by:
a) offence type
b) knife type
c) what the knife was used for (ie stabbing, threatening)

Dorset Police would always work with schools, parents / guardians and look to provide education as opposed to necessarily immediately moving to a criminal outcome in situations where a knife / weapon was located in a school in the possession of a young person.
