The Professional Standards Department have provided the following information:
What was the total number of complaints of alleged homophobia or transphobia made against serving police officers in your force by other serving police officers in the years:

A search has been conducted for any misconduct allegations that were recorded on our professional standards system between 01/01/2018 and 30/04/2023 in either the categories of F (discrimination), F3 (Gender reassignment) or F9 (Sexual orientation). I have also searched for allegations recorded in the category of K1 – Discreditable conduct, and then run a key word search for the words homophobic/homophobia or transphobic/transphobia, with the following results found:
2023 – 0
2022 – 5 (all remain live at this time so will not be included in the further questions below)
2021 – 2
2020 – 0
2019 – 0
2018 – 0
How many of these complaints led to disciplinary proceedings and, of these, how many were upheld? Please provide this information by calendar year.
2021 – 2 led to disciplinary proceedings that were upheld.
How many of the officers against whom complaints were made were dismissed as a result of the complaint being upheld? Please provide this information by calendar year.
No officers were dismissed for the allegations in 2021.
Please provide details of any other punishments issued towards those officers who were found to have perpetrated homophobic or transphobic abuse towards their colleagues.
2 officers received written warnings for the allegations in 2021.

1 complaint recorded in one of the above categories resulted in a finding of the service provided was not acceptable, this led to an outcome of reflective practice for the officer involved (allegation recorded in 2020).

4 serving police officers are currently under investigation for allegations including at least one allegation relating to either homophobia or transphobia.
