Freedom of Information (FOI) Act request ref: 23/0758
Version Date: 20/06/2023
The Professional Standards Department have provided the following information:
Data processing
Search conducted of all complaints in the ‘G2’ category
Data limitations/caveats:
Abuse of Position for Sexual Purpose (APSP) comes under the complaint allegation type ‘G2’. These have only been in place since around February 2020 – prior to this there wasn’t a specific category for complaints of that nature, and they could have been recorded in any category the inputter felt fitted. The time it would take for an individual to review all allegations before this date to identify those complaints relating to APSP would exceed the appropriate time and costs limit of 18 hours set out by the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).
1. Please provide the annual number of complaints regarding the abuse of position for sexual purpose received by your police service since 2013.
1
2. For each of these complaints, I would like to know the gender, immigration status, and country of origin of the complainant.
Male, immigration status and country of origin not recorded
3. For each complaint I would like to know whether it led to disciplinary action, and if so, what the outcome was (eg. officer dismissed).
The outcome of the complaint is ‘de-recorded’ so there was no disciplinary outcome.
