Freedom of Information Act Request No: 2022-207
Version Date: 16/03/2022
The Performance & Analysis Department have provided the following information:
The type of building has been provided where this information was completed on Niche..
Specifically, I’d like to request the number of reports of theft where lead and/or copper materials have been stolen from the time period 2017 to 2022 (or if 2022 data is not available then data from 2017 - 2021 would be great).
559 offences with Metal Theft flag were recorded between 01/01/17 and 28/02/22
Please could you also show the town/city where the theft has taken place, and the type of building or site that the material was stolen from (eg. a church, residential property, construction site).

Finally, in each reported case please advise whether any arrests were made and if so, whether there were any prosecutions.
There are eighteen recorded arrests related to these offences
The Police do not hold prosecution data – This would be held by the Courts or Crown Prosecution Service
The Police would hold data on the number of individuals charged with an offence but this is not the same as being prosecuted
