Current Priorities

You are telling us that the following issues are a priority in your area:

PRIORITY (May 2013)

You are saying ... Dangerous and Inconsiderate Driving

We are doing ... This priority continues to focus on the ‘Fatal Four’. Whenever possible, we will focus our efforts towards reducing the number of people not wearing seatbelts, drink and drug driving, inappropriate speed, and using a mobile phone whilst driving. The ‘No Excuse’ campaign is an ongoing successful campaign throughout Dorset. Just four months into the campaign, nearly 7000 traffic related offences were detected. Most people drive safely, but we still need to ensure that the local roads are a safe a place as possible for residents.

You are saying ... Cycling on pavements without consideration and at night without lights

We are doing ... Following concerns raised by residents regarding cyclists riding on the pavements and without lights at night, the safer neighbourhood team will look to promote cycle safety. In order to reduce the risk of collisions, the team will stop to speak with cyclists committing these offences. A warning and advice will be given on the first occasion; however fixed penalty notice will be issued to repeat offenders. The main area of concern is the Broadway in Broadstone.
