Current Priorities
You are telling us that the following issues are
priorities in your area:
| PRIORITY (March 2013) |
|
You are saying ... Volume of traffic has
increased and also the number of speeding vehicles through Upwey
Village, starting from Stottingway Street and ending Goulds
Hill.
We are doing ... We attended the Community
meeting at the start of the year held at the Upwey Village Hall,
Church Street.
This meeting resulting in the establishment of
an action focusing on the issues raised by the residents. We are
working with the committee alongside Dorset County Council and
local Councillor Michael Goodman. We have been conducting speed
checks at Stottingway Street, Church Street and Goulds Hill
resulting in driver education and enforcement for speeding
motorists. Dorset County Council have installed traffic monitoring
equipment in the area to measure the levels of traffic.
We continue to work with the local community
over these issues. Including setting up a SNT Post box and post cards at
Upwey Village Hall for the community to tell us their
issues.
|
|
You Are Saying ... Concern from residents at
the Finches over the increase in thefts from motor vehicles in the
area.
We Are Doing ... We are working with the
residents of Broadway to increase the number of households included
in the local neighbourhood Watch Scheme and Ringmaster system
empowering and informing the residents with news and information.
We are working closely with the SNT team for Littlemoor to
maximise the number of local patrols across the
area.
|
|
You Are Saying ... Pupils causing problems to
residents, such as littering, whilst walking home from Budmouth
School at the end of the school day.
We Are Doing ... We have worked with Budmouth
School and staff to educate the pupils to minimise disruption to
the wider community at the end of the school day. We also
conducted patrols at the start and end of the school day to educate
the pupils as to their impact on the
residents.
