Current Priorities
You are telling us that the following issues are a
priority in your area:
| PRIORITY (April 2013) |
|
You are saying ... Speeding is an issue around
Westbourne. The problem is predominantly around the rush hour
times with motorists using side streets as a ‘rat run’. The
main problem roads have been identified as West Cliff Rd, Alumhurst
Rd, Robert Louis Stevenson Ave, Marlborough Rd, Grosnevor Rd &
Clarendon Rd.
We are doing ... Continued traffic checks in
these (and other) roads using the speed enforcement camera funded
by Bournemouth Council as well as dedicated days of action as
supported by Dorset Police traffic team.
Dorset Police is also trying to set up
community speed initiatives involving the local communities -
details will follow once consultations have taken place.

of speeding follow this link >

You are saying ... Persons are cycling
their bikes on the pavements around the main shopping area in
Westbourne causing a nuisance and danger to pedestrians.
We are doing ... Continued patrols in the area
in an attempt to catch offenders and then deal with them robustly
be it through education or prosecution.
Also the local language schools are given an
input prepared by the Police highlighting amongst other things that
cycling on the pavement is not acceptable.
|
|
You are saying ... Alcohol related
anti-social behaviour is a problem in and around the Westbourne
area.
We are doing … Continued patrols around the
area and responding to calls by the community. The local
Safer Neighbourhood Team have a close working relationship with the
licensing team based at Bournemouth and as such will flag up any
issues that are attributable to any licensed establishment in
Westbourne with a view to robust action being taken.
The local Safer Neighbourhood Team also maintain good
partnership working relations with other establishments in the area
who seek to help persons with alcohol addiction.
