Current Priorities
You are telling us that the following issues are a
priority in your area:

You are saying ... That in the Town Centre and
Lansdowne area, there are lots of homeless people begging.
We are doing ... We have
increased patrols and conducted plain clothes operations. Arrested
offenders, additionally we have worked closely with our
partners Crime Reduction Initiative, Street Services to
encourage people to engage with agencies to support them in order
to reduce street begging. We have also used powers under the Anti
Social Behaviour Act 2003 to disperse offenders. We have issued
over 100 in the last 6 months.

You are saying ... That people are street
drinking in the Town Centre day and night.
We are doing ... We have been granted a
DPPO (Designated Public Place Order), this allows police to
remove alcohol from people drinking in the street and acting anti
socially. We carry out patrols and refer street drinkers to other
agencies. We identify main offenders and through our partners apply
for Anti Social Behaviour Orders and Acceptable Behaviour
Contracts. Since October 2012 we have issued 150 dispersals under
Section 27 Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006.

You are saying ... People are dealing drugs on
the street and from premises.
We are doing ... We have carried out plain
clothes patrols to gather intelligence and detect offenders. We
work closely with housing providers to evict offenders. In the last
3 months your SNT have executed 5 Misuse of
Drugs warrants
