Current Priorities

You are telling us that the following issues are a priority in your area:

PRIORITY (January 2013)

You are saying... How can we reduce burglary in Talbot Woods?

We are doing... Work to contact burglary victims to offer reassurance and give crime prevention advice. Where eligible, vulnerable and elderly victims have benefited from the East Boro Handy Van Security Service where additional locks and other security upgrades have been installed. The Meyrick & Talbot SNT has also been conducting high visibility patrols in the area. If you would like your local officer to conduct a home security survey at your address please call 101 to arrange a date and time.

You are saying... How can we reduce vehicle crime in the area?

We are doing... Day-glo posters warning vehicle owners about car crime. These have been placed in areas where repeat thefts from vehicles have been occurring. Reassurance visits have also been conducted by the Safer Neighbourhood team to victims of theft from vehicle. The Safer Neighbourhood team has also been giving crime prevention advice to identified vehicle owners who have been leaving valuables on display.

You are saying... Cycle theft from sheds has increased in the area

We are doing... Sheducation leaflet sent out to residents who receive emails via the Community Messaging System detailing crime prevention advice. Reassurance visits have also been conducted to victims of cycle theft. Security bike tagging has also been conducted at Bournemouth University along with the University Safer Neighbourhood Team in an effort to prevent cycle thefts. High visibility cycle patrols have also been conducted in the area.
