Bournemouth murder investigation - Renewed appeal

Detectives in Bournemouth investigating a murder in the Boscombe area of the town are renewing their appeal for anyone with information to come forward.

Officers are still seeking information to help them with the investigation into the murder of 21-year-old Reece James Menzie at his home address, a flat at the junction of Roumelia Lane and Sea Road.

The incident happened at approximately 2.15am on Wednesday 25 July 2012 when three intruders entered the flat and the victim was shot.

Detective Chief Inspector Kevin Connolly, of Dorset Police's Major Crime Team, said: “Unfortunately, we have had a disappointing response from people in the area so far.

“It is now ten days since the murder and we are still trying to piece together what happened."

Three men were seen to run from Roumelia Lane into Sea Road in the direction of the sea. All three men were wearing dark coloured hooded tops and at least one was wearing a balaclava.

DCI Kevin Connolly continued: “I would like to speak to anyone who may have seen these men flee, perhaps enter a property, or leave in a vehicle.

“I am also interested in talking to anyone who knew the victim or anyone who has ever visited his home address.

“I appeal to the residents of Boscombe to come forward to help us find the killers.”

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 25:046. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
