Detectives in Bournemouth investigating an alleged
murder in the Boscombe area of the town are renewing their
appeal for witnesses and anyone with information to come
forward.
At approximately 2.26am on Wednesday 25
July 2012, Dorset Police received a report by the ambulance service
that a man had been seriously injured at an address at the junction
of Roumelia Lane and Sea Road.
Officers and the ambulance service
attended and the victim, believed to be a 21-year-old man from
London, was declared dead at the scene. He had sustained a
gun shot wound. The deceased has not
yet been formally identified.
Detective Chief Inspector Kevin
Connolly, of Dorset Police’s Major Crime Team, said: “We are still
investigating the circumstances of this death but I believe this
was a pre-planned and targeted attack by a number of
offenders.
“We are following various lines of enquiries in an extensive investigation and have arrested a
22-year-old man in connection with this incident who is helping us
with our enquiries.
“I would like to
reassure the local community that there is no immediate concern for
the safety of the public.
“I would like to renew my earlier appeals
and urge any witnesses and anyone with information to contact
Dorset Police in confidence as soon as possible.
“Any information might be of significance
and help our investigation.
“I am especially keen to speak with
anyone who saw anything suspicious or unusual in the area of
Windsor Road, Roumelia Lane, Cecil Road and Sea Road between
midnight and 4am on Wednesday 25 July 2012.”
