Renewed appeal after man's death in Bournemouth

Detectives investigating the death of a man in Bournemouth are renewing their appeal for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.

At approximately 2.26am on Wednesday 25 July 2012, Dorset Police received a report that a man had been seriously injured at an address in Roumelia Lane in the Boscombe area of the town.

Officers attended and the body of a man was discovered.

Detective Chief Inspector Kevin Connolly, of Dorset Police’s Major Crime Team, said: “We are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.

“As a result, members of the public may have noticed increased police activity in Bournemouth as local officers including firearms officers searched the area.

“I would urge any witnesses and anyone with information to contact Dorset Police as soon as possible.

“I am especially keen to speak with anyone who saw anything suspicious or unusual in the area of Windsor Road, Roumelia Lane, Cecil Road and Sea Road between midnight and 4am this morning, Wednesday 25 July 2012.

“I would like to reassure members of the public that an extensive investigation is ongoing and there is no immediate concern for the safety of the community.”

The deceased man has not yet been formally identified. Next of kin are aware and the Coroner has been notified.
