from Dorset Police in relation to the landslide at Beaminster
Tunnel.
Police can confirm that the bodies of a
man and a woman have been recovered from the vehicle that had been
buried in the Beaminster Tunnel landslide. No further details of
their identity will be released until the identification process is
complete in conjunction with HM Coroner.
Officers are appealing for anyone who may
have seen the victim’s silver coloured Skoda motor car being driven
on the A3066 from Beaminster village centre to Beaminster Tunnel
between 9.30pm and 10.30pm on Saturday 7 July 2012. This was the
recent day of very heavy rainfall throughout Dorset.
Witnesses and anyone with
information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting
incident number 16:386. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous
