Theft of power tools in Wareham - Appeal

Police in Wareham have issued an appeal for witnesses and information following the theft of power tools valued at more £2,000 from a business in the town.

The incident happened sometime between 5pm on Wednesday 30 May 2012 and 7am on Thursday 31 May 2012 at the Perenco site on Furzebrook Road.

Thieves entered the premises through a wire fence and stole what they could from garages and sheds.

Police Constable Paul Holman, of Wareham Police, said: “The tools taken include three hammer drills and a concrete saw.

“This is a significant theft of very expensive items which has caused serious harm and disruption to the business.

“These tools are not for domestic use and would only be of interest to people in the construction trade.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who may have information, or may have been offered these tools at a discount price."

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 31;90. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
