Welcome to Poole North Section
Poole North is a diverse area that includes large residential
areas, places of public entertainment, schools, shopping areas,
industrial estates and retail parks alongside heathland areas that
are designated Sites of Special Scientific Interest.
The
policing of the area is strongly focused on reducing crime and
anti-social behaviour to improve the quality of life for everyone
who lives in or visits the area for work or recreation.
Our patrol officers provide a resilient, effective 24 hour
policing capability responding to the wide range of incidents and
emergencies that can occur in the area. These officers work closely
with our Safer Neighbourhood Teams to provide an effective policing
service that recognises and responds to the priorities of the
community and yet is available to deal with the full spectrum of
services required from the police.
The Safer Neighbourhood Teams are
dedicated to specific areas and consist of Police Officers, Police
Community Support Officers and Volunteers working in close
partnership with other agencies and the local communities to tackle
issues and secure long term solutions.
This approach has proven it’s value
and crime levels within Poole North have decreased over
the past three years. There were 4,280 recorded crimes in
2010/11, 4,107 in 2011/12 and 3,749 in 2012/13 – a fall of
12%. This represents 531 fewer victims of crime than there were
three years ago.
We will continue to build upon these
successes and will never tire in our work to drive down crime and
anti-social behaviour. We will support our communities but will
deal robustly with offenders.
The Safer Neighbourhood Teams are
always interested to hear from members of the public and I would
encourage you to contact them to discuss any issues that concern
you.
