Police in Poole are appealing for witnesses and anyone
with information to come forward after an alleged assault on a
stretch of the A35 known as the Upton Bypass – with one man
arrested.
The incident, in which a 22-year-old local woman was reportedly
assaulted by a man along the A35 bypass near Upton, took place at
approximately 9.15am on Friday 3 June 2011.
Police Constable Amy Burbidge, of Poole police, said: “I
understand the woman was driving to work when she was forced to
pull onto a grass verge by the driver of a white car and was
reportedly assaulted.”
The woman sustained bruising and bleeding to her face.
A 25-year-old man from Poole was arrested and has since been
released on police bail pending further enquiries.
PC Burbidge
continued: “I am appealing for anyone with information in relation
to this incident to contact me urgently.”
