The force will be taking positive action against anyone found riding these mini motorcycles in the future. The information provided here is intended for riders.

To use a mini motorcycle on a road or a public place you must:

  • Be over 16 years of age
  • Have at least a provisional driving licence
  • Wear an approved helmet
  • Have tax and insurance
  • Have undergone compulsory basic training (C.B.T.)
  • Ensure the bike has a number plate and sufficient tread on the tyres

You cannot ride a bike on private land unless you have the full permission of the landowner.
