Update for Applicants - Police Constable Recruitment Campaign

23 November 2011

The financial situation in relation to police budgets and the continuing impact upon recruitment has been reviewed.   The Human Resources Department will be issuing an update to existing applicants by 31 December 2011.

 

10 January 2011

The impact of the Comprehensive Spending Review and reduction in police budget has now been considered by Dorset Police.   In particular, the impact of upon recruitment has been assessed.  The Human Resources Department is now reviewing the future outlook and once this is complete, applicants will be provided with an update.  It is likely that this will be issued by the last week of January 2011.

 

26 October 2010

Last week’s Comprehensive Spending Review by the Coalition Government tells us that there will be a significant reduction in police budget over the next four years. We now await further details of what this will mean for Dorset and this information will not be available until the beginning of December.  Therefore, as previously advised, any further update will not be available until January 2011 (after the situation has been assessed and decisions have been made by the force).

 

5 August 2010

All applicants should have now received a comprehensive update in relation to the current financial situation and Police Officer recruitment by personal letter.   Should any applicant not have received such contact should be made with the HR Service Support Team.  We apologise for the slight delay.

 

7 May 2010 - Updated Information

You will be aware that previous correspondence advised that you would be contacted by letter by the end of May 2010 to advise you of your specific provisional appointment date/year. Unfortunately, we must apologise that at this time we have had to extend this until the end of June 2010.

 

12 March 2010

Assessment Centre results have been processed earlier than expected and will be posted by 2nd class post today.

Candidates are requested to please allow 5 working days before contacting the Service Support Team should their results not arrive in the post. This will allow for any delays within the postal service and ensure no duplications are generated unnecessarily.

 

10 March 2010

Police Officer Assessment Centre Results are now in and we anticipate they will be sent to all candidates by 2nd class post on Wednesday 17 March 2010.

A Search Assessment Centre was recently held at Hampshire.  The results will be issued in writing in March 2010.   A more precise date of when the results will be issued will be added here in the forthcoming weeks.
