Current PACT Priorities

You are telling us that the following issues are priorities in your area:

PRIORITY (Updated June 2014)

1. Reduce the number of victims of burglary to holiday homes and unoccupied premises.

Your SNT will continue to work with you, Home Watch and crime reduction partners to ensure that quality information is received enabling the team to take firm and positive action ensuring we deliver a proactive approach to reduce these crimes. We have stepped up high visibility patrolling and continue to speak with any suspicious person or stop any suspicious vehicle. We’ll conduct street corner meetings and work with you and fellow service providers to ensure that property is protected and people feel safe at home.

Criminals are not welcome in Mudeford and Highcliffe. Crime doesn’t pay. With your help we’ll do what we can to hold them to account.

2. Reduce the number of victims of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) in Friars Cliff, Mudeford Wood and Steamer Point.

There has been a significant reduction in ASB in your area.

However your SNT is committed to work with you, Home Watch and crime reduction partners to ensure that quality information is received that will enable the team to take positive action to reduce it further. We’ve already stepped up high visibility patrolling and seized alcohol from those in illegal possession. We’ll conduct street corner meetings with Home Watch and fellow service providers. This action will ensure that people feel safe both at home and within the community.

ASB will not be tolerated in Mudeford and Highcliffe. Together we can stamp it out.

3. Continue to work with you to promote a strong and effective Home Watch

Mudeford and Highcliffe already benefits from an established Home Watch.

Your SNT recognises the value of a strong and effective Watch Scheme to help keep you and others safe. With the support of our fellow service providers we’ll continue to support Christchurch Home Watch and encourage community involvement during our Street Corner Meetings and Road Shows.

Nationwide statistics show that Watch Schemes play a significant part in reducing crime and the fear of crime.

On-Going in support of Force Policing Plan Priorites - Reducing the number of people killed or injured on our roads.

Concerns have been raised by local residents regarding the manner of driving of some road users particularly in relation to excess speed in Bure Lane. We will focus our efforts towards reducing the number of people exceeding the speed limit, not wearing seatbelts, drink and drug driving and using a mobile phone whilst driving.

The ‘no excuse’ campaign is an ongoing successful campaign throughout Dorset. Just four months into the campaign, nearly 7000 traffic related offences were detected. Most people drive safely but we still need to instil in people that there are still ‘no excuses’ and that people committing these offences will be dealt with robustly. Mudeford and Highcliffe SNT will continue to target the Fatal 4 throughout your area to ensure that our roads are safer.
