Detectives in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses
and anyone with information to come forward after a woman was
reportedly subjected to a sexual assault in the Charminster area of
the town - with one man being charged.
The alleged incident happened in a vehicle at around 3.20am on
Sunday 27 January 2013.
The victim is a 26-year-old woman from
Bournemouth.
Detective Constable Ross Graham, of
Bournemouth CID, said: “I am
appealing for witnesses to assist with this investigation.
“We are very keen to speak with anyone who may
have seen a red Nissan Micra car in the areas of Winton recreation
ground on Fitzharris Avenue or behind the job centre on Cotlands
Road in Lansdowne.
“Witnesses and anyone with information are
asked to contact police as soon as possible in the strictest
confidence.”
A 47-year-old man of no fixed abode has been
arrested and charged with sexual assault, and is due to appear
before Bournemouth Crown Court next month.
