Detectives in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses
and anyone with information to come forward following a robbery in
the centre of town.
The incident, in which a 19-year-old woman was pushed against a
wall and had her pockets searched by an unknown man, happened along
Bath Road, near the petrol station between 3.30am and 4am on
Saturday 26 January 2013.
The offender made off with the woman’s
engagement ring and some cash which were both in her pockets. The
victim was uninjured.
Detective Constable James Batty, of
Bournemouth and Poole CID, said:
“Understandably, the victim was distressed by the incident and very
upset about the loss of the ring – an obviously very special and
personally significant possession.
“The ring consists of 18 carat white gold with
a larger diamond flanked by three smaller diamonds on either side
of it.
“I urge witnesses and anyone who has any
information about the robbery to contact police as soon as
possible.
”I would also like to hear from anyone who has
been offered a ring of this description in unusual circumstances or
at an unusually low price.”
The offender has been described as aged
between 20 and 30 years old, about five feet six inches tall and of
average build with broad shoulders. He has dark hair and was
wearing dark trousers and a dark hooded top.
Witnesses and anyone with information
