Police in Poole are appealing for witnesses and anyone
with information to come forward after a pensioner was assaulted in
the Creekmoor area of the town.
The incident happened on Creekmoor Lane at around 9pm on
Monday 31 December 2012.
The victim, a 69-year-old man from Poole, was
punched in the face after responding to a knock at his door.
The assault resulted in him receiving a black
eye, as well as cuts and bruises to his face.
The offender ran off towards Fleetsbridge.
Police Constable Paul Mellor, of Poole Police,
said: “This unprovoked attack is extremely rare and has had a
significant impact on the victim.
“I would ask any witnesses, anyone who saw or
heard anything suspicious around the time of this incident, and
anyone with information about the person responsible, to call
Dorset Police on 101.
“The suspect is described as a white man aged
in his late twenties with a shaven head.
“He was wearing a long dark shirt and
jeans.”
At this time no arrests have been made.
