Detectives in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses
and anyone with information to come forward after a man was
allegedly assaulted by another man in the Charminster area of the
town – with one man being arrested.
The incident, in which a 20-year-old Bournemouth man sustained
bruising to his face and broken teeth, happened along Malmesbury
Park Road just after 1am on Sunday 16 December 2012.
He was treated at the Royal Bournemouth
Hospital.
Detective Constable Richard Skinner, of
Bournemouth CID, said: “I
understand that the victim and another man were involved in some
sort of altercation inside the Havana Wine Bar, along Charminster
Road, at around 1am that morning.
“The two men were ejected from the premises
following this incident, which took place on the basement dance
floor.
“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed any
suspicious activity in the Havana bar on Sunday morning, and anyone
who saw the later incident along Malmesbury Park Road, to contact
me as soon as possible.
“I understand that there were a number of
revellers inside the bar and in the vicinity, and it may be that
someone, or several people, may be able to help me with this
investigation.”
A 24-year-old Bournemouth man has been
arrested and released on bail while enquiries continue.
