Miss Simpson said: “I would like to wish our communities a happy, healthy and safe Christmas.

“I hope that you have found the Dorset Police Advent Calendar useful.

“Please continue to follow our crime prevention and personal safety advice to help ensure you enjoy a crime free Christmas and New Year.”

The Dorset Police Advent Calendar has been housed on the Force website and it has provided the public with a different area of festive crime prevention and personal safety advice each day from 1 to 24 December.

The public were also able to receive the Advent Calendar updates by following Dorset Police on twitter @dorsetpolice. The campaign has used the hashtag #DPadventcalendar.

As well as encouraging the public to continue following the Force’s crime prevention and personal safety advice, Miss Simpson also thanked those members of Dorset Police who are working over the festive period.

Chief Constable Simpson continued: “I would also like to thank my staff and officers who are working over the holiday period to help keep Dorset safe, along with staff from our emergency service partners.

“As always, you can contact Dorset Police 24 hours a day, seven days a week, over the festive season by phoning the non-emergency number 101 for all non-urgent enquiries.

“In an emergency, when a crime is in progress or life is in danger, please dial 999.”

The Dorset Police Advent Calendar content will remain live on the Force website http://www.dorset.police.uk/ until Wednesday 2 January 2013.
