Purbeck
Section
Purbeck Section
covers an area in excess of 200 square miles incorporating Wareham,
Swanage, Upton, Bere Regis, Bovington, Wool, Briantspuddle,
Affpuddle, Winfrith Newburgh, Lulworth, Lytchett Matravers,
Lytchett Minster, Bloxworth, Morden, Sandford, Arne, Stoborough,
Studland and Kimmeridge.
An area of outstanding natural beauty, we are responsible for
the policing of the Purbeck Peninsula and World Heritage coastline
as well as Brownsea Island and the many popular holiday
destinations in this largely rural area.
Each area has a dedicated Safer Neighbourhood Team working
directly to combat the issues raised with us by members of the
community. Please use the link below to find out who your local
officers are and make contact with them and get involved in dealing
with the issues that effect you and your family - where you
live, work and visit. Purbeck Section works closely with our
partners in Purbeck District Council and their Crime and Disorder
lead Karen Jaggs. We also work with other agencies such as the
coastguard, Dorset Fire and Rescue and Youth Services. Community
policing is, and will remain, our top priority.
Of course we are committed to reducing crime and bringing those
that are responsible for crimes and anti-social behaviour to
account. We have had some real successes over the last year and
have seen a significant reduction in crimes and an increase in the
detection of offenders. There is always more to do and we look
forward to continuing to build on these successes.
Please feel free to contact me at Wareham Police Station or
Swanage Police Station.
