Welcome to Poole South Section

Inspector Steve Horton - © Dorset Police All Rights ReservedPoole is a town with a mix of tourism and industry. It has the largest natural harbour in Europe. Brownsea Island is one of the few sites where red squirrels survive. The beaches have won nineteen Blue Flag awards and two Premier Seaside Awards. Its heathland is a site of special scientific interest.

The town is home to the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Poole Pirates Speedway team, and Sunseeker the luxury motor yacht constructor. The Merck Group – the world's leading manufacturer of liquid crystals found in computers, watches and TV sets, has a centre for excellence in Poole. The RNLI also has its national headquarters in Poole and operates a fleet of lifeboats from there.

With the introduction of Safer Neighbourhood Teams they provide a regular and highly visible on-street presence, tackling issues of concern to the communities they serve.
