We network with similar
groups in other forces to establish best practice in dealing with
issues.
We may be able to establish a
better rapport with members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and
transgendered (LGB&T)
population with a view to problem solving when issues arise.
They can provide advice on the
policing of areas such as ‘cruising grounds’, ‘cottages’ etc where
complaints have been received from members of the public. High
profile or undercover policing is only one of a number of options
available; many of which are less resource intensive but just as
effective.
Some members of the group are gay
and lesbian and some are members of the Gay Police Association.
They can offer advice and support to those within the organisation
that may need it.
