Police are renewing their appeal for witnesses and
information about the identity of a slow moving vehicle following a
collision in North Dorset that left five people injured.
The collision occurred at about 7.45am on Wednesday,
21 October 2009, on the A30 between Sherborne and Milborne Port
when three motor vehicles - all travelling in the same direction -
were in collision. The five occupants of the three vehicles all
sustained injuries that needed hospital treatment.
Police constable Sara Mackay of Dorset Police's traffic unit, said:
"I'm keen to speak with anyone who saw or who knows the identity of
a slow moving vehicle as I understand that this vehicle was causing
a tail-back of traffic in which the collision occurred.
"The slow moving vehicle may have been a dark coloured people
carrier type of vehicle and it's important that I speak with the
driver of this vehicle.
"I'd also like to hear from anyone else who witnessed the collision
or having any information about the slow moving vehicle that I have
yet to trace."
The 46-year-old male driver of a white Nissan Almera, registered to
a Devon woman sustained serious injuries, as did the 49-year-old
female driver and 9-year-old female passenger in a yellow Citroen
C2 registered to a Templecombe woman.
The 57-year-old lady driver of a green Vauxhall Omega registered to
a Yeovil man, and a 16-year-old female passenger in the yellow
Citroen C2 sustained slight injuries. None of the injuries were
life-threatening and all were taken to local hospitals for
treatment.
