Criminal damage in Sherborne - Witness appeal

Police in Sherborne are appealing for witnesses and information after a number of cars were vandalised in the town.

Criminal damage has been caused to ten unattended vehicles along Long Street, between 11pm on Saturday, 31 October and 8.15am on Sunday, 1 November 2009.

The driver’s side wing mirror has been broken off of all ten vehicles, which were parked in the same direction as Long Street is a one-way road.

Police Constable Anthony Elswood, of Sherborne police, said: "This is senseless vandalism and the victims will now have to spend time and money to rectify the damage.

"This sort of appalling behaviour will not be tolerated and I am appealing to witnesses – and anyone with information about those responsible – to contact me as soon as possible."

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 01305 22 22 22 or the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
